September Membership & Conference Update

September Membership & Conference Update
Andrew Robinson

Greetings CHESPRA Members,

In light of today’s tragic school shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, our thoughts are with everyone affected. While this wasn’t in our region, we understand how difficult this is for those involved. Our commitment to supporting each other and fostering safe, inclusive environments for our students and communities remains steadfast.

I hope the school year is off to a great start for you. It’s hard to believe that it’s already September. Here are a couple of updates:

Fall Conference: We are thrilled to announce that our Fall Conference is scheduled for November 6-8! This year, we’ve extended our programming to include two half days and one full day, beginning with a half day on November 6. Our President-Elect, Gladis Bourdouane, is working to secure a fantastic location for this event, ensuring a valuable and engaging experience for all attendees. Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details about the conference!

Given that the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) Seminar is in Washington, D.C. next year, this is our only CHESPRA conference planned for the year.

Join or Renew Your Membership: Now is also the perfect time to join or renew your CHESPRA membership to enjoy the many benefits we offer. You’ll have access to:

  • Annual conferences

  • Eat. Learn. Grow. virtual professional development series

  • CHESPRA Connect membership portal

  • Networking opportunities with peers

  • Tools and resources tailored for school communicators

  • Regional meetups for collaboration and connection

Do you know a district that isn’t currently a CHESPRA member? Any member division that refers a new division will be entered into a gift card drawing at the fall conference. To be eligible, have a representative from the district you refer email the VP of Membership with your name and division.

If you have any questions or need assistance with your membership, please contact our Membership Team:

  • Katie LaPira, VP of Membership

  • Dr. Christina Arpante, Virginia and D.C. Membership Chair

  • Sarah Siddons, Maryland and West Virginia Membership Chair

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to CHESPRA. We look forward to another year of learning, growth, and collaboration!

On behalf of the CHESPRA Board,

Andrew P. Robinson
CHESPRA President
