CHESPRA Creates Tim Bullis Memorial Scholarship Fund

Straightforward, smart, thoughtful, funny and tireless: Tim Bullis improved the lives of thousands of students, educators and community members.

A respected leader in school public relations and a former president of CHESPRA, Tim Bullis sadly lost his battle against cancer in the summer of 2023. As a long-time PR director in Chesterfield County Public Schools who started his PR career in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, Tim understood the value of attending CHESPRA and NSPRA conferences and building relationships with colleagues.

To keep Tim’s legacy alive, CHESPRA announced the creation of the Tim Bullis Memorial Scholarship at its Fall 2023 Conference. Initially endowed by the CHESPRA Board, scholarships will be awarded annually to CHESPRA member(s) to cover Fall or Spring Conference Registration Fee(s), and preference will be given to members who personally pay to attend conferences. A committee will be formed in early 2024 to finalize eligibility requirements, open the application process, and ultimately select annual awardees.
